About Us
For ten years, Patricia worked with her father in his Industrial Sales Business. She prepared invoices and correspondence, entered and tracked orders received, as well as, monitored invoices and payments received. She also prepared monthly commission reports and quarterly Connecticut Sales Tax reports. While working with her father, Patricia not only learned aspects of managing one’s own business, but also aspects of managing money. She and her father had many conversations about the fundamentals of investing in the stock market. Over time, Patricia gained valuable knowledge about researching stocks and mutual funds, tax consequences of selling and buying stocks, and managing your stock portfolio. Patricia also worked as a Financial Analyst in the Physics Department at Yale University. She was responsible for monitoring and reporting over 30 research and development accounts, with annual funding for these accounts exceeding $3M. Patricia also acquired an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with very little guidance from her colleagues. One day a week, she worked in the Provost Office, preparing monthly grant commitment accounting statements, analytical financial reports and assisting in financial projects. Through her own initiative, Patricia redesigned the Provost grant commitment accounting statements using Microsoft Excel. She is proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Quickbooks. She has earned her Certification in Bookkeeping, Tax Preparation, Non-Profit Bookkeeping and her 2007 Quickbooks Certification. Currently, Patricia is a working on her Business Analysis Certificate. Presently, Patricia is not only the owner of Clear Cut Bookkeeping, but also the owner of a landscaping company. She manages the finances, schedules appointments and works out in the field. She enjoys writing and has completed her first adult novel called, Small Steps, which is based on a true story, and a children’s book series called, Sasha and Syd. Patricia's love for learning never stops. She constantly keeps up with the trends in the accounting, bookkeeping, and tax fields. She is always willing to learn new accounting and tax software. |
